Two of Fort Worth’s most iconic institutions, the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial and Kincaid’s Hamburgers, both founded in 1946, are coming together to co-celebrate their eight-decade anniversaries during the 80th Charles Schwab Challenge, May 27-31.

For the first time ever, Kincaid’s will be bringing their famous, award-winning hamburgers to fans at the tournament.

Kincaid’s burgers will be served in the three on-course Villagesto fans at the concession location at hole No. 13, Thursday thru Sunday, and in corporate suites on Saturday.

“For 80 years, Kincaid’s Hamburgers has proudly served Fort Worth, and we’re deeply honored to celebrate alongside the Charles Schwab Challenge at the Colonial as it marks it’s 80th anniversary.  Being part of this community has always meant more to us than just great food — it’s about tradition, connection, and the people who make Fort Worth feel like home.  We’re grateful to stand with an event that shares the same legacy and love for this city,” commented Jonathan Gentry, Kincaid’s Hamburgers Co-Owner.

After 80 years, Colonial and Kincaid’s continue to go about their business; the Charles Schwab Challenge preparing to host the world’s best golfers in May with the distinction of being the longest running PGA TOUR event held at the same location, and Kincaid’s delighting guests with their burgers from the original Fort Worth location on Camp Bowie where it all began, still under family ownership.

Brothers Jonathan and Christian Gentry are the third generation Kincaid’s Hamburgers family owners, now operating five locations.

Their grandfather, O.R. Gentry, created the iconic hamburger while working as the head butcher at the Charles Kincaid’s Grocery & Market. In 1991, O.R. passed the reins to his son Ronald Gentry, then Ronald entrusted sons Jonathan and Christian to continue the ownership legacy in 2007.

“Colonial and Kincaid’s are timeless treasures in Fort Worth that have stood the test of time for good reason. Kincaid’s is as proud of their heritage as we are ours at Colonial. They are a fantastic addition to this year’s tournament,” said Kip Adams, Charles Schwab Challenge Tournament Chairman.
