FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Slim Chickens, the 300-plus-unit fast-casual chicken franchise, is teaming up with Dr Pepper to launch Dr Pepper Blasted Tenders, Tender Bites and Wings nationwide beginning September 14th for a limited time.
The collaboration exclusively pairs the one-of-a-kind taste of Dr Pepper, a blend of 23 unique flavors, with Slim Chickens’ hand-breaded chicken.
Dr Pepper Blasted is a proprietary dry seasoning blend that is applied by hand after the chicken comes out of the fryer. It is not a sauce, and the chicken is not brined or marinated in Dr Pepper. The seasoning adheres to the hand-breaded coating, so the Dr Pepper flavor comes through in every bite.
“We don’t add flavors to our tenders lightly – tenders and sauce are the whole reason people know us,” said Patrick Noone, chief marketing officer at Slim Chickens. “Dr Pepper Blasted cleared that bar. It is bold, it is unmistakable, and the only place in the country you can get it is at Slim Chickens.”
Dr Pepper Blasted is available on tenders, tender bites and wings at all domestic Slim Chickens locations at no additional charge. The launch adds another option to the Slim Chickens menu, built around the brand’s “Whatcha Pickin’?” approach to customization.

The launch lands in the middle of football season, which is by design. Slim Chickens was built in a college town, and Dr Pepper has fueled college football fandom for generations. A basket of Dr Pepper Blasted tenders and an ice-cold Dr Pepper is made for a Saturday in front of the game.
“There is a reason we picked September,” Noone said. “Football is when our guests are most locked in, and now they have a new way to enjoy the tenders they already love. Whatcha Pickin’? This fall, we think we know.”
Dr Pepper Blasted Tenders are available until November 16th at all domestic Slim Chickens locations.
