Keeping it light at Le’s Wok

I love my chicken-fried steak and Mexican food but there are times I want to grab something on the lighter side. Le’s Wok is the perfect spot for that.

Nina and Le Nguyen opened up a convenience store in 1994 called the 7:00 A.M. Market, but when a QuikTrip opened across the street around 6 years ago, they called an audible and decided to add a small kitchen and sell Chinese food to go to compensate for the losses.

As the take-out business continued to grow Nina and Le decided to expand the restaurant adding Vietnamese and Thai food to the menu and doing away with the convenience store.

With the hospitals nearby, the lunches are booming, so if you are in a hurry, I would suggest that you might want to order ahead of time for pick up.

The menu is extensive, ranging from egg drop soup, Pho, and Banh Mi to Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese noodle dishes and of course all of your fried rice favorites.

My go-to dish is the yellow curry with onions, mushrooms and carrots with steamed white rice.

I order my dish spicy, which has just enough heat to bring on a case of the sniffles. The onions and carrots are perfectly cooked and the button mushrooms melt in your mouth.

The portion size is more than generous so I never have room for a dessert…well, except for the complimentary fortune cookie.

Le’s Wok serves quality at a bargain. Your average plate is going to come in around $10 and it’s worth every penny.

So if you want to keep it on the less expensive side and stay light on your feet, Le’s Wok is your place to go.
