New Taste Room and Wine Bar Concept Starts Pouring Up Personally

According to 38 & Vine’s Facebook they will open at 11 am Saturday, December 21.

A new concept is coming to Fort Worth through 38 & Vine, a tasting room and wine bar located in the bustling Foundry District. Wine lovers, curious tasters, and early happy hour-goers will now have the opportunity to sip, taste, pour, and savor from a selection of more than 40 international and US, rotating wine selections. 38 & Vine’s curation includes a diverse lineup of varietals, from crisp whites to rich reds, which will be poured by innovative dispensers that allow oenophiles to select from 1, 3, and 5-ounce glasses of wine.

Located directly between downtown and the cultural district, 38 & Vine will welcome guests into a 1,440 sq foot tasting room inspired by the look and feel of an intimate European cocktail lounge. In addition to their robust wine selection, the beverage menu will include champagne and craft beer options exclusively from DFW breweries. To accompany guests experience, 38 & Vine has partnered with two local culinary favorites to provide lite bites and dessert options. Fellow Foundry District business, Meyer & Sage, will have ready-made charcuterie boards, hummus plates, and small salads. Arlington bakery, Gold Ribbon Confections, is the dessert provider of choice offering an assortment of cakes, pies, and chocolates all rotating based on seasonal ingredients and flavors.

Real Estate guru Jennifer Demel and her husband, former Diamondback pitcher Sam Demel, founded 38 & Vine in the heart of Fort Worth with the intention of designing a go-to space for comfortably exploring wine in an enjoyable environment. Rooted in the nationally avante garde wine bar and tasting-room concept, the entrepreneurial husband and wife duo’s new business will also highlight a special feature — a 10 seat private tasting room for small group tastings, educational classes, and private reservations.

When asked about opening 38 & Vine co-owner Jennifer Demel said, “Sam and I love Fort Worth and always knew that it would be our forever home. We wanted to bring a piece of our favorite things from traveling back to the city to share with the community we care so much about. North Texas is thriving and deserves cool, forward thinking concepts to enjoy. 38 & Vine is designed to be a space that feels like you’ve been transported to a warm, cozy lounge you would experience in some of the best cities in the world right in the heart of Fort Worth!”

Jennifer and Sam have been familiar faces in Fort Worth as real estate agents for funkytown’s Burt Ladner agency. The dynamic couple met when they were both studying at Texas Christian University in 2005. After graduation, Sam was drafted by the MLB’s Oakland Athletics and spent five years as a major league player.

Their new modern bar concept wasn’t a coincidence. After traveling to some of the country’s biggest metropolitan cities, the couple realized that North Texas was missing some major innovations and wanted to bring something special to their beloved city. Their idea-turned-reality in 2019 with the creation of 38 & Vine. The space was conceptualized by local design firm Jessica McIntyre Interiors and features rich, lush decor is complemented by signature wallpaper and cozy furniture seating — creating the warm environment the Demel’s aimed to bring to fellow Fort Worthians.
