Two Wounded Heroes Get Mortgage-Free Homes at Colonial

Two retired and decorated U.S. Military veterans who both severely wounded in combat were honored for their sacrifice and service today at the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club and were awarded mortgage-free homes through Military Warriors Support Foundation’s Homes4WoundedHeroes Program.

The wounded heroes were Retired U.S Marine Corps Corporal Robert Gass of Raeford, NC and Retired U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Alexander Freeman of Kissimmee, FL.

The homes were donated by Wells Fargo to Military Warriors Support Foundation’s Home4WoundedHeroes program. Both families recently moved into their mortgage-free homes and will receive three years of family and financial mentorship.

This year’s presentation marks the 16th and 17th Homes4WondedHeroes homes awarded to wounded combat veterans at the tournament since 2011.

Today’s presentation took place at the Heroes Tent adjacent to the 17th fairway at Colonial.
