STAGE WEST ANNOUNCES FIRST TUESDAYS

Stage West is excited to launch a new event called First Tuesdays. As the name suggests, it will take place on the first Tuesday of each new month starting at 6pm, lasting approximately 90 minutes.

Tickets are $20 each and include drinks, community, and unique experiences such as mini-lectures, cabarets, how-to’s, hands-on creative play, and more, curated to delight the mind, enrich life, and cater to creative impulses. Stage West’s season ticket holders receive a variety of additional discounts for the program.

Acoustic Guitarist Antonio D. Thomas, and Small Local Makers Market Antonio will be playing a mix of top pop hits of bands and artists from the UK and Ireland area! Covers will be from: U2, The Script, Mumford & Sons and more!

Makers Market will feature jewelry, bath products and more.

Guitarist: Antonio D. Thomas

Antonio hails from Grand Blanc, Michigan. He grew up inspired by such acts as Michael Jackson, Prince, and Jimi Hendrix. Noting that he would always sing every song on the radio, he was placed in choir at a young age which lead to his love for musical theatre. Antonio found himself traveling the states and playing in places he would never expect. He received his degree in Musical Theatre Performance under Michael Serrechia (A Chorus Line) and has been performing on stages around DFW ever since!

Singer: Kenneth Knight

Baritone Kenneth Knight, a native of Uvalde, Texas, received his B.A. in Music Theory from Yale University, where he sang with the Yale Glee Club, the Yale Alley Cats (which he also conducted), and the Whiffenpoofs.

After Graduate study in voice conducting, and musicology at the Manhattan School of Music, he toured for several seasons with the Norman Luboff Choir. He has also sung with the Roger Wagner Chorale, the Gregg Smith Singers, the Don Ellis Band, the Los Angeles Master Chorale, the American Bach Soloists, and the Philharmonic Baroque Orchestra Chorus. As part of a film studio choir, his voice is heard on the soundtracks of twenty-one feature films and one television show. In 1987, he served as principle cantor for the papal masses and the Los Angeles Coliseum and Dodger Stadium during the visit of Pope John Paul II. He has been an instructor of voice at Mount St. Mary’s College, Occidental College, California Lutheran University, and California Institute of the Arts. In California he was Director of Music for eight years at St. Clare’s Catholic Church in Santa Clarita and for five years at the Petaluma United Methodist Church, and was the founding director of the Sonoma County Men’s Chorus. In New Mexio, he conducted the Santa Fe Men’s Camerata, the Zia Singers (a community women’s choir), the choir of the Santa Fe United Church of Christ, and the choir of the Santa Fe Preparatory School. He was also the co-founder, artistic director, and conductor of the Canticum Novum (“New Song”) Chamber Orchestra and Chorus of Santa Fe. In Fort Worth he is currently conducting the Ukulele Band & Chorus at the Trinity Terrace Retirement Community, where he is a resident. Pianist: Pat Stanford is a native of Fort Worth and an alumnus of the Trinity Valley School, TCU, and the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY as well as studies in Vienna. Patrick was a member of the Texas Boy’s Choir in the early 1960’s and appeared with them on the Ed Sullivan Show, the Perry Como Show, and they toured the USA. He performed in the choir and also played piano solos.
