Dallas Cowboys greats Troy Aikman and Dak Prescott will team up as Honorary Chairs for the Children’s Cancer Fund Gala, making “A Knight to Remember” an unforgettable evening at the Hilton Anatole Dallas on Friday, April 19.

Marking the 34th year for the nonprofit’s signature fundraiser, the gala is expected to raise over $2 million, creating a brighter future for kids with cancer by advancing research and care.

The highlight of the evening centers around an awe-inspiring fashion show focusing on 23 pediatric cancer patients, showcasing their bravery and style. The models, ranging in ages from 5-to-17 years old, will walk the runway escorted by celebrities and wearing fashions provided by Dillard’s. The gala also features live and silent auctions, a VIP reception and dinner.

Aikman and Prescott’s leadership continues the “Quarterbacks for a Cure” legacy established by Cowboys Legend Roger Staubach in representing Children’s Cancer Fund. With Aikman’s involvement celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2024 and Prescott joining as Honorary Co-Chair for the second consecutive year, the duo’s dedication to the cause is making a difference in the lives of children battling cancer.

“The Children’s Cancer Fund Gala is the best event of the year and the kids involved have made a lasting impact on my life,” said Honorary Co-Chair Troy Aikman. “The kids are amazing and inspirational because of their fight and courage. I will come back every year, with the hope that a cure will soon be found.”

“These kids and their families are the real champions,” said Honorary Co-Chair Dak Prescott. “I believe together we can make a difference in the battle against childhood cancer. In my heart, I know the Children’s Cancer Fund Gala and these inspirational kids are changing people’s futures.”

The children who will walk the runway on gala night include: 6-year-old Paisley Bennett of Denton; 7-year-old Cami Clements of Brownsboro; 17-year-old Analise Cuington of Irving; 17-year-old Maycee Dickson of Sherman; 13-year-old Miller Dietsche of Plano; 14-year-old Libby Evans of Dallas; 10-year-old Shameel Farishta of The Colony; 17-year-old Luis Garza of Fate; 8-year-old Kewan Gibson of Dallas; 7-year-old Annaliah Gonzalez of McKinney; 11-year-old Briella Hernandez of Rockwall; 10-year-old Trevor Hurton of Gladewater; 16-year-old Sergio Jaramillo of Dallas; 6-year-old Amairy Leon Velazquez of McKinney; 6-year-old Dak Lopez of Grand Prairie; 10-year-old Daniella Luevano of Rowlett; 13-year-old Stella Matthews of Plano; 8-year-old Cannon McGough of Dallas; 11-year-old Mackenzie Mickelson of Plano; 10-year-old Eleazar Moreno of Dallas, 14-year-old Preston Pipkins of Dallas; 9-year-old Dustin Samuel Rodriguez of Dallas; and 10-year-old Bennett Sieck of Frisco.

Emberli Pridham, the best-selling children’s author, will chair this year’s Children’s Cancer Fund Gala. The event promises an evening of hope, inspiration and philanthropy.

“This event is all about supporting and honoring these courageous children from North Texas and raising funds for groundbreaking pediatric oncology research and care,” said Pridham. “No child or family should face the fight against cancer alone. “A Knight to Remember” will demonstrate our community’s shared commitment to creating a brighter future for these brave young warriors.”

Since 1982, Children’s Cancer Fund has raised and donated more than $13 million to fund pediatric cancer research and treatment programs.

“Making a lasting impact on the lives of children affected by cancer is what ‘A Knight to Remember’ represents,” said Jennifer Arthur, Children’s Cancer Fund Executive Director. “We invite the community to celebrate these courageous fighters by joining us for an empowering evening filled with energy, enthusiasm and compassion.”

As the organization’s largest annual fundraiser, the Gala raised more than $2 million in 2023 to support pediatric cancer research and treatment programs at Children’s HealthSM and UT Southwestern. By working closely with these respected organizations, Children’s Cancer Fund inspires hope by improving treatment and care for North Texas children affected by all types of pediatric cancer.
